Managing multiple widgets
Frill lets you create unlimited widgets, each with different settings, targeting rules, and content. Managing multiple widgets helps you serve different audiences or pages with tailored experiences.
Viewing your widgets
Navigate to Widgets in your dashboard to see all your widgets. Each card displays:
Widget name — Your internal label
Sections — Badges showing which parts are enabled (Ideas, Roadmap, Announcements)
Type — The widget template used
Targeting summary — Quick view of where and when it appears
Widget views — How many times users have seen the widget
Published status — Whether the widget is live or draft
Last updated — Most recent edit timestamp
Creating additional widgets
To create a new widget:
Click Create Widget from the widget list
Choose a template or start from scratch
Configure and save
You can create as many widgets as you need — there's no limit on any plan.
Editing widgets
Click any widget card and select Edit to open the widget builder. Changes save automatically and apply immediately to your live site.
Changes to published widgets take effect immediately. Test in a staging environment if you're making significant updates.
Publishing and unpublishing
Control whether a widget is active:
Publish — Make the widget live on your website
Unpublish — Hide the widget without deleting it
Unpublishing is useful when you want to temporarily disable a widget without losing its configuration.
Getting widget code
From any widget card, you can:
Copy Widget key — Get the unique key for embedding
Iframe — Copy the full iframe embed code
Each widget has a unique key, so you can control them independently on your site.
Deleting widgets
Click a widget card and select Delete to permanently remove it. This also removes it from your website.
Deleting a widget can't be undone. Unpublish instead if you might need it later.
Common multi-widget setups
Here are typical scenarios for using multiple widgets:
Different pages — Show a feedback widget on product pages and an announcements widget on the dashboard
User segments — Display enterprise features to paid users and upgrade prompts to free users
Localization — Create language-specific widgets for different markets
A/B testing — Test different appearances or messaging with separate widgets
Use targeting rules to ensure each widget reaches the right audience. For more on targeting, see Custom user attributes for segmentation.
