Using the prioritization matrix
The prioritization matrix plots your ideas into four quadrants based on their benefit and cost factors, helping you identify which ideas to tackle first.
The four quadrants
Quick Wins: High benefit, low cost—prioritize these first
Major Projects: High benefit, high cost—plan carefully
Fill Ins: Low benefit, low cost—tackle when capacity allows
Thankless Tasks: Low benefit, high cost—deprioritize or reject
Ideas are placed in quadrants using the median (50%) as the threshold for high vs. low.
Accessing the matrix
Open the prioritization matrix from the "Prioritization Matrix" link in your dashboard sidebar.
Ideas only appear in the matrix if you've configured priority score factors and assigned values to those factors for each idea.
Use the matrix during sprint planning to focus engineering effort on Quick Wins while scheduling Major Projects for future quarters.
