Quick start guide: Collecting your first feedback
Get your first Ideas board live in under 10 minutes. This guide walks you through creating a board, embedding it on your site, and collecting feedback.
Step 1: Head the Ideas section
From your dashboard, go to Ideas in the top sidebar
The board already has a name, but you can always change that in the Languages section (e.g., "Feature Requests" or "Product Ideas")
Configure basic settings—choose whether ideas require approval before going public
Your board is now live and ready to collect feedback.
Step 2: Embed the widget on your site
Go to Widgets in the sidebar of your Dashboard.
Click Create Widget
Choose Ideas Widget and select the board you just created
Customize appearance (colors, position, labels)
Copy the embed code
Paste the code into your website's HTML, just before the closing
</body>tag
If you're using WordPress, Webflow, or another platform, add the code via your theme's custom code section.
Step 3: Test and collect feedback
Visit your site to see the widget appear. Click it to submit a test idea. You'll see new submissions in your Frill dashboard under Ideas → Inbox.
From there, you can approve ideas, update statuses, reply to comments, and start prioritizing.
