Using the widget builder
The widget builder is a full-screen interface where you configure every aspect of your widget. It provides a live preview and step-by-step options to customize appearance, behavior, and targeting.
Builder interface
The builder has two main areas:
Left sidebar — Configuration steps organized in a vertical menu
Right panel — Live preview showing how your widget will look to users
Changes save automatically as you work. Use the Back and Next buttons to navigate between sections, or jump to any section by clicking it in the sidebar.
Configuration sections
The builder organizes settings into these sections:
Templates — Start with pre-configured widget types (Ideas, Roadmap, Announcements, or combinations)
Widget name — Internal label for your dashboard (80 character limit)
Home — Set the default section users see when opening the widget
Ideas / Roadmap / Announcements — Configure each section's feed and display options
Launcher — Choose trigger type (floating button, tab, inline, or none)
Appearance — Customize title, logo, description, theme, and colors
Language — Select the widget's display language
Sections — Enable or disable specific parts of the widget
View — Control widget display mode (popover, sidebar, modal, or embed)
Targeting — Set rules for when and where the widget appears
Advanced — Additional configuration options
Using templates
Templates apply a pre-configured set of options based on your use case:
All — Includes ideas, roadmap, and announcements
Ideas — Feedback board only
Roadmap — Product roadmap only
Announcements — Changelog only
Feature request — Optimized for collecting specific feature requests
Selecting a template doesn't lock you in — you can modify any setting afterward.
Preview and testing
The live preview updates in real-time as you change settings. It shows exactly how users will see your widget, including colors, positioning, and content.
After saving, test your widget on a staging site before deploying to production. You can edit settings anytime from your widget list.
