Survey types: CSAT, NPS, and custom surveys
Frill offers five survey templates, each designed for different feedback goals. Choose a template when creating your survey, then customize the questions and settings.
Prerequisite: All survey types require the Frill Script to be installed on your site or app. See Installing the Frill Script to get started.
NPS (Net Promoter Score)
NPS surveys measure customer loyalty with an 0-10 rating scale.
Scores 9-10 are Promoters
Scores 7-8 are Passive
Scores 0-6 are Detractors
Default question: "How likely are you to recommend [company]?" You can make follow-up feedback optional or required.
CSAT (Customer Satisfaction)
CSAT surveys measure satisfaction with customizable rating styles:
Stars (1-5)
Hearts (1-5)
Numeric scale (1-5)
Custom labels (editable text for each rating)
Ideal for measuring satisfaction with specific features, support interactions, or product experiences. Like NPS, you can require or make feedback optional.
Open feedback
A simple textarea for qualitative responses. No rating scale—just a text field for users to share thoughts in their own words. Best for collecting detailed feature requests or general comments.
Quick poll
Multiple-choice surveys with draggable button options. Create up to 10 options with automatic numbering (1, 2, 3...). Users pick one choice. Optional follow-up feedback can be enabled.
Use quick polls for A/B preference testing, prioritization questions, or simple binary choices.
Idea poll
Let users vote on existing ideas from your feedback board. Select up to 5 ideas (searchable), and the survey displays them as clickable buttons plus a "None" option. Optional follow-up feedback available.
This ties survey responses directly to your roadmap, making it easy to validate demand for specific features.
All survey types support optional or required follow-up text feedback. Enable this in the General settings tab to gather context behind ratings.
