Notifying subscribers via email
Send email notifications to subscribers when you publish an announcement. This ensures your audience sees important updates even if they don't regularly check your changelog.
How to notify subscribers
When publishing an announcement, check the Notify subscribers box before clicking Publish. Frill will send an email to everyone who has subscribed to your announcements.
Email notifications are sent immediately when you publish. If you schedule an announcement, the email will be sent when it goes live.
How users subscribe
Users can subscribe to announcements by clicking the Subscribe to updates button on your public announcements page. They'll receive a confirmation email to verify their subscription.
When someone subscribes, they're automatically added to a subscriber segment you can use for targeting future announcements.
Managing the subscribe button
To show or hide the subscribe button on your announcements page:
Go to Settings → Company → Miscellaneous
Toggle the subscribe button option
Save your changes
Best practices
Don't notify subscribers for minor updates—save emails for important announcements
Keep announcements concise since they'll be sent via email
Use descriptive titles so subscribers know what the update is about
Test the subscription flow yourself to see what your users will receive.
