Notifying subscribers about announcements
Send email notifications to subscribers when you publish announcements. This ensures your audience sees important updates without relying on them to check your changelog regularly.
Enable notifications when publishing
When publishing an announcement, check the Notify subscribers box in the sidebar before clicking Publish. Frill will send an email to everyone subscribed to your announcements.
Emails are sent immediately when you publish. If you schedule an announcement for later, the email will be sent when it goes live.
After publishing
Once an announcement is published, the notification toggle is disabled. You can't send emails for previously published announcements, even if you edit them later.
Viewing your subscribers
To see who's subscribed to announcements:
Go to Dashboard → Users
Look for the subscribers segment
View the subscriber count and list
This segment updates automatically as users subscribe or unsubscribe.
Best practices
Save emails for important updates—don't notify for minor tweaks
Use descriptive titles so subscribers know what the update contains
Keep content concise since it's being delivered via email
Test the subscription flow yourself to see what users receive
For more control over who sees your announcements, use the subscriber segment to target specific user groups.
